Tourism Industry to hold annual conference

(Fredericton) The Tourism Industry Association of NB (TIANB) is getting ready to hold their annual conference at the Delta Brunswick Hotel in Saint John from May 23rd to May 25th. This is the biggest conference of its kind for NB. TIANB has created a program that has valuable information for all people who are directly or indirectly involved in the tourism sector.

The 2012 Annual Conference has some prominent guest speakers who will deliver presentations on topics ranging from future trends in tourism, using local food products for profitable business, multi-generational human resource issues, how to get the most from social media, how to get the most from TripAdvisor and more. Key note speakers include Futurist Doug Stephens, Chef Chuck Hughes (the only Canadian to win the Iron Chef competition), NB’s HR guru Pierre Battah, Laurel Reid, Kerry Anne MacDougall and Jim Brody. TIANB also has planned industry information sessions into funding and training programs, a market place for suppliers and clients to interact and the Pioneer Awards Banquet.

The Pioneer Awards Banquet is a unique opportunity for the tourism sector to recognize those who have excelled in tourism over the past year as well as one person who has had a significant impact on NB’s tourism sector over the course of many years.

The TIANB 2012 Annual Conference is the one event of the year that celebrates our tourism sector, the people and businesses that work together to employ over 34,000 New Bruswickers and generates almost 1 billion dollars in economic activity for the province every year. TIANB is fortunate to have the support of Cavendish Farms, Discover Saint John and the Lily Lake Pavilion to hold this conference. There is still space available for those who wish to register. Registration is as easy as going to TAINB’s website or calling their toll free line at 1-800-668-5313.
