E-Commerce Manager

The E-Commerce Manager is responsible to maximize room revenues for all Coastal Inn hotels utilizing yield strategies and distribution channel management. The incumbent will be responsible to monitor and drive all activities for increased sales and market build through traditional distribution channels as well as innovative campaigns to penetrate new markets.

 

Reports to the General Manager, Coastal Inn Moncton.

 

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                   

  • Accountable to achieve revenue targets from distribution channels across the portfolio.
  • Conduct strategic analysis, understand markets, monitor and assist hotels with sales and rate strategies.
  • Provide recommendations to increase market share and evaluate turndown and lost business.
  • Assist hotels to maximize room revenue by utilizing yield management techniques to emphasize occupancy and average rate.
  • Develop strategies to sell inventory at the highest rate and push reservations through the lowest cost channels to increase revenue and optimize net RevPar.
  • Own the Online Travel Agency relationship and strategy.
  • Monitor distribution channels for hotel positioning, information accuracy and competitor positioning.
  • Initiate, implement and evaluate revenue tests and understand all e-channel booking processes and procedures.
  • Determine additional distribution channels to target.
  • Manage and maintain Coastal Inn’s database strategy and develop strategies for targeted campaigns including but not limited to database marketing.
  • Responsible for data extraction, inputting and list lead generation for potential business.
  • Manage and update Coastal Inn social media sites. Develop and coordinate social media marketing strategies and promotions.
  • Manage website content for promotions and updates. Communicate all changes to stakeholders.
  • Act as “Manager on Duty” as required. This role will be required to assist the General Manager and assume the role of GM in their absence.
  • Support the front desk of the hotel through taking of reservations, relieving for breaks and assisting in during high volume periods.
  • All other duties as directed by General Manager 

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, with concentration in sales and marketing or related field. Candidate must have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the past 4 years. Preference given to candidates graduating from a hospitality program.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry would be considered an asset.
  • Related experience with OTAs and/or travel agency would be considered an asset.
  • Proven people management skills & excellent time management skills.
  • Strong ability to use computers and various data management programs and systems.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with developing distribution strategies and product development plans.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written.
