New Brunswick's Tourism Industry Gathers in Fredericton for the Kick-Off of the TIANB 2026 Summit
Fredericton, N.B., October 13, 2026 — The Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick (TIANB) kicks off its 2026 Summit and Gala today at the Fredericton Convention Center. Through October 15, business operators, destination managers, partners, and government representatives from across the province will gather under the theme “Honouring Tourism. Building What’s Next.”
This gathering comes at a pivotal moment for the industry. The 2026–2031 Provincial Tourism Strategy aims to increase the annual economic impact of tourism to $3.7 billion—a $1 billion increase over five years. For TIANB, the Summit is a unique opportunity to rally the entire industry behind this goal and to equip the businesses that will drive it forward.
The opening day begins with the BELONG session, dedicated to the inclusion of people with disabilities in the tourism experience, followed in the evening by the official opening ceremony. On October 14, the TIANB’s Annual General Meeting will kick off a day packed with content: a presentation by the Department of Tourism, Heritage, and Culture; panels on the growth of tourism businesses and the power of partnerships; and a hands-on workshop on the art of turning a tourism offering into a media story, led by Anthony Azard (AUDACIA Communication). On October 15, Camille Derelle Aubut (Touriscope), Jonathan Keeley (Vivify), Salomé Thériault (Ampersand Social Media & Co.), Myriane Ouellette (O Stratégies), and Martina Bernhofer (Level Up Teambuilding) will discuss the future of tourism, marketing, digital presence, and business adaptability.
“Tourism is not a secondary sector in New Brunswick; it’s an economic engine that sustains our regions. This Summit is the moment when the entire industry comes together to take the pulse of the sector, share what’s working, and prepare for what’s next. With a goal of $1 billion in growth over the next five years, every business, every region, and every partner has a role to play,” says Ginette Doiron, Chief Executive Officer of TIANB.
The Summit will culminate on October 15 with the TIANB Gala, an evening of recognition that will highlight 39 finalists across 13 categories, in addition to the Tourism Industry Pioneer Award. Businesses, festivals, parks, and leaders from across the province will be honored, with support from partners such as Delta Marriott Hotels, Parks Canada, ITANB, and ExploreNB.
By hosting this Summit, TIANB reaffirms its role as a unifying force and spokesperson for the industry. The Association intends to continue the dialogue begun in Fredericton with its members, partners, and the Government of New Brunswick to transform the ambitions of the provincial strategy into concrete results for businesses and communities.
